Adult Champs & Holiday Challenge Deadlines
The Adult Champs and Holiday Challenge test and entry deadlines are approaching quickly: Sept. 20 and 30 respectively. This year, both events will take place simultaneously on separate sheets of ice at Sharks Ice at San Jose, Nov. 18-20.

Save the Date!
Mark your calendars for the 2017 ISI/MIAMA Conference & Trade Show scheduled May 30 – June 2 at DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomington – Minneapolis South. More details will follow in the coming months.

Memberships Expire Soon
All current ISI Professional memberships and liability insurance must be renewed by Sept. 1 to maintain coverage. When you renew your membership and purchase your insurance, you'll get BOTH for only $170 — the same low rate we have offered for several years now. This is a fantastic offer for prospective ISI Professional members too, so don't forget to spread the word. ISI's insurance benefits offer more coverage at a lower price and meet all other association requirements with an extended term of July 1 through Aug. 31 of the following year.

Individual members must renew in order to maintain their eligibility to participate in ISI-endorsed events and receive excess accident insurance (unless they are on a multi-year plan that continues this term).

2016 Update Test Information
Through Aug. 31, coaches can take the required 2016 Update Test for $10. As of Aug. 1, ALL certification tests were updated to include questions from the new 2016 rule revisions. All coaches who have passed any level of judge certification exams prior to this date will be required to take and pass the 2016 update test to maintain the validity of their current certification. Click here to purchase and take the test online or download the PDF version.

The update test will primarily include the new information from the 2016 Rule Revisions. Coaches are strongly recommended to have the current 2016 ISI Handbook available now from the ISI office.

Beginning Sept. 1, the Update Test fee will be $20.

Plan to Attend
Your District Seminar
Many of the 2016-17 ISI free district seminar dates and locations have been posted on the ISI website. Instructor seminars provide a venue for skating instructors and skating directors to discuss the latest in teaching techniques, industry trends and rule revisions. Instructors participate in video judging exercises while sharing tips and helpful hints. A wealth of industry updates and educational information goes into each year's seminar manual, distributed at no charge to all attendees.

Plan now to attend your free district seminar, and make the most of this opportunity to network with school directors, instructors, managers and other arena staff members from your district. For district seminar guest speakers and other updates, watch the ISI News, email bulletins and the ISI website as well as announcements from your district director.

Rink Guard Manual Available
The rink guard is one of the most important positions in the ice arena. This position has evolved into one that encompasses safety, entertainment, customer service and education. To assist and familiarize rink owners and operators with the required responsibilities of the rink guard, ISI has created a manual entitled Guide to Public Skating Management & Supervision. The manual provides guidelines on the role of the rink guard, hiring and training, general rules for pubic skating, arena rules and enforcement, and tools for rink guards.
