The Ice Skating Institute of America Education Foundation was founded to enhance the educational opportunities of ISI members by encouraging skaters to make athletic as well as educational achievements. To achieve this goal, the Trustees award scholarships with a $4,000 minimum value to ISI skaters for study in universities, colleges, and technical schools throughout the United States.

Goals and objectives of the ISIA Education Foundation

  • To support the academic development of amateur ice skaters through the awarding of scholarships for post-secondary school education.
  • To support the development of educational programs relating to the administering and conducting of ice skating instruction programs.
  • To support the research and development of written and visual materials to further the interest in ice skating as a competitive sport and recreational activity.
  • To support the development of educational programs relating to the administering and officiating at amateur ice skating competitions.

Scholarship recipients are announced each May at the Annual ISI Conference, with a presentation ceremony at the ISI World Recreational Team Championships in August.
